Tooltime Is Now

Remember the 90s?  Home Improvement and "Tool Time" were on top of the Nielson ratings and the Internet was still considered very geeky.  Even the tools in 90s were primitive compared to today's models.  The only good thing you can say about the previous decade?  The comedy sitcoms were probably better.  But let's talk about the tools and parts for the new millennium. 

Makita

Makita, a top manufacturer for quality power tools, started producing electric motors almost a century ago.  In 1958 the company's first electric tool was introduced.  Makita is still on top of things as an innovator in tool technology.  The website speaks highly of its selection; a new generation of cordless power tools, that use state of the art lithium-ion batteries.  It has a line of 350 tools and over 4500 accessories. 

Milwaukee

First founded in 1924, Milwaukee has been producing heavy-duty electric power tools and accessories for many years.  It is an industry leader with 137 US patents and 179 foreign patents awarded.  The website highlights the many innovative tools the company has marketed, such as the Tilt-Lok, the first ever adjustable handle circular saw, the BodyGrip router and the Sawzall-Hatchet Saw with a six-position rotating handle. 

Black And Decker

Black And Decker is not only a marketer and manufacturing company; it is also a major supplier of information systems to government and commercial clients all over the world.  The company is also the largest producer of power tools and accessories in the world, ranked number one in America and competitive worldwide.  From what humble beginnings?  How about a small machine shop in the early 1900s? 

Ryobi

Ryobi also strives for innovation in tool design and meets customer's needs with top quality products and services.  Its specialty is on producing high-tech equipment that is also affordable for the average household.  Popular products include the AP10, the world's first portable bench top planer and the BT3000, the first affordable precision woodcutting system.  Ryobi, like some other manufacturers who don't directly sell to customers, works exclusively with The Home Depot to sell their products online.

Dremel    

Dremel was founded in 1932 in Wisconsin where it continues all these years later as the worldwide leaders in rotary tools.  Today there are over 17 million rotary tools in use, with more than 150 available bits and accessories.

Sears And Craftsman

Men currently rank Craftsman, sold through Sears in-store and online, as the number one brand in America for overall quality, and number two worldwide.  (So says an EquiTrend survery by Harris Interactive)  It has been producing top quality tools since 1927. 

These are just some of the top companies in the world.  TV shows about tool time may come and go but tools will always have a place in your heart and in your hands.
