Indeed, plants and trees cost money.  Cement and bricks cost more money.  Any construction activity costs the most money.  Guard your finances throughout your project by planning ahead and knowing the cost beforehand.  It might help to consult a professional or even utilize some landscaping software before even thinking about starting a project.  Instead of "maxing" out your credit cards or taking on another bank loan, consider building your dream project slowly over time.  An inexpensive and debt-free landscape project is the most rewarding.

3. Make your landscaping project a family affair.

The more money you invest, the more you should share the wealth.  Build more than just a garden-build an entire yard of pleasant surroundings that the whole family can enjoy.  Consider brick pathways that lead to all sections of the house, swimming pools and patios.

4.Build with safety in mind.

Home landscaping stops being fun when somebody gets hurt.  Build your pathways and swimming pools according to safety regulations.  Keep poisonous plants away from pets.  Build your garden with wide-open spaces for maximum sunlight and then remember to add a few places of cool shade.

Landscaping pictures only tell half the story.  To actually live and breathe in a successfully planted garden--right across from the swimming pool and while basking in the sun surrounded by butterflies--is a nature lover's dream.
